Photoshop Training
Photoshop always uses ICC Colour Management to convert images between colour spaces; i.e. from RGB to CMYK, and to display images. It is vital to use the correct "Color Settings" and other settings in Photoshop. Expert training in this area is is becoming increasingly important, partly due to the the large amount of RGB images created with digital cameras, and to the increasing use of standardised (ISO) Pinting specifications.  Prepress professionals often have a limited understanding of RGB colour spaces and ICC Profiles and conversion techniques. This training is often carried out as part of our Profiling service. There is also only a limited knowledge of newer ISO 12647 printing standards , and related ICC Profiles. We can help with the selection or creation of the correct Profiles to use for your conditions.

Scanner Training
Formerly training on Crosfield scanners took up to three weeks!  Even when experienced prepress operators were being trained. With today's much cheaper scanners (often secondhand) and reduced margins in the industry, this is no longer possible. These scanners are still very complex however, and training by experienced professionals is essential in order to obtain the full benefits from them.

We cannot overemphasize the importance of proper training. It is also essential to use the right calibre of instructors. Not only those who have worked in prepress; and have qualifications; but also were employed at Crosfield for many years in a senior capacity.

Training in scanner operation is given on site using your typical production images. This is done for all Crosfield and Fuji scanners.  It is often done as part of a Scanner Optimisation service. It is also often undertaken on behalf of prepress equipment suppliers and engineering service companies, typically after the installation of a new or refurbished scanner.
